Summer Reading List

If we’re being completely honest, as always see books and go “I’ll read that!” but then we never do. Summer Reading Lists are always so full of good intention, but then summer slips away in the blink of an eye and fall comes in full swing. We decided that we’d create a summer reading list, but make sure that the books are so good that you CAN’T NOT READ THEM. So pick a book (or four), toss it in your cute tote bag, and get to reading!

Daisy Jones & The Six

Have you ever wondered what a sudden rise to fame in a 1970’s rock band, and the story of an infamous band break up would look like? Well, this novel has all of that and more for you to enjoy. Giving you a “behind the scenes” look into what life for rock bands entails, this book is sure to be a new favorite. Plus Reese Witherspoon loves it, so it’s basically like you’re bffs.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette?

Just in time for the movie release (Aug. 16th!) you can enjoy this quick, entertaining, & mysterious read. The plot is written from the perspective of the 15-year-old daughter, Bee Branch, whose agoraphobic mother and architect up and disappears one day. They were supposed to take a family trip to Antartica...but where exactly did Bernadette go?

The Plums

It’s not a cookbook, but it’s sure to change your perspective on food. Following the career and perspective of Ruth Reichl, this book is a mixture of the importance of food for the soul, a few quick recipes and her quirky humor. If you have a passion for food, a passion, or are just looking for something light, this is the book for you.

Fire on High

Speaking of food, this book is about that and so much more. With expectations for herself, roles she must play and dreams she must quite, Emoni must decide if her passion, talent and dreams will determine her life, or the fear and expectations. This book is about dreaming, working your butt off and the personal growth that comes from it. Highly, highly suggest this book for any of you dreamers out there.
